If you are a dedicated rock climber you may already know of Madeleine Sorkin. She has made quite a name for herself as one of the premiere rock climbers in the world.

Madaleine has recently founded an organization called the Climbing Grief Fund, which is dedicated to helping climbers cope with grief, PTSD and tragedy. Too many of Madaleine's friends and associates have experienced the tragedy themselves, or know of someone who has died or been injured while practicing their dangerous sport.  Too often climbers have suffered in isolation and struggled to recover on their own.  Madaleine experienced her own scrape with death when equipment failed and she fell 50 on to a life-saving ledge.

Madaleine talks about her own struggle with what she now recognizes as post-traumatic stress syndrome and shares insights gleaned from her efforts to find communal ways to cultivate resilience in the face of overwhelming grief.
